In Class and at Home...

We are doing a voice recording using a phone, voki, or vokaroo. In this recording, I need to hear...

  1. Which topic you chose
  2. The 2 best pro's and the 2 best con's you read
  3. The side you support (i.e. for banned waterbottles you support to either ban or keep them).
  4. Why you think that side is the better one.
  5. Is there a better solution to this problem?
  6. It needs to be 60 seconds - 2 minutes.

These topics are relevant debates on how humans affect the envionment. This is an example using Voki on Zoo's. Zoo's is not a topic you can choose. I used it only for example purposes.

 


Rights of Different Minority Groups in Utah

In class...

We split into 8 groups (Chinese railroad workers, women, children, Mormons, Japanese-Americans at Topaz, American Indians, African-Americans, and LGBTQ) and I introduced the Padlet.

Research your assigned group then add a note for each question under the title with the following information:

1. How did this group come to Utah?

2. What makes them different from the majority (white, male)?

3. Early on, what rights were they missing?

4. What year or time did they start experiencing the same rights as the majority?

I need to see the question answered and one extra media link attached (picture, video, audio, website).

Use the Greek Miners in the first column as an example.
